I know I'm coming in late, but that's some scary shit right there.

If a red telephone box suddenly lands in my front yard, I'm running.

Glad you enjoyed it! Sorry it took so long to check in.

I can clear up a little mystery for you, as far as the audience noise. All of the track on that disc are from what you'd call "bootlegs," although that's technically a misnomer because I don't buy or sell them. Anyway, they aren't official releases and they aren't available commercially. When people trade them, they tend not to trim them, preferring instead to leave the entire shows intact. Long gaps between songs are put at the end of a track by the craftier folks, but not always. I have a beautiful recording of Pink Floyd playing "Echoes" that starts with five minutes of audience noise. The fact is, I listen almost exclusively to these concert recordings and have for the past few years, so I never even notice it anymore the way you did. It's an interesting perspective - I guess I've forgotten how to listen to concise, studio recorded music.

I believe several of these songs came directly from soundboard patches; others were from audience recordings. That is why the quality varied. Now that I think of it, the CD I burned was normalized, but since you listened to mp3s generated after that, the sound quality is probably all over the place. Oh well, curse you, USPS!

Hi,

Just to let you know I've finally got round to posting my review of your Shuffleathon CD. Whilst it's fair to say it is a mixed review, I just wanted to thank you for the hardwork you put in to compiling and sending it out.

Thanks,

Paul
